The most common complaint I hear from patients is that they do not have time for themselves. It's simply not true - it's about priorities. Everyone can make time for themselves each day - a walk, a run, an hour at the gym - all are possibilities if you decide to make it a priority. Take 5! each day for yourself, you'll not only be glad that you did, but you'll be a better mother, a better spouse, or a better whatever role you play, because you did! Move - Move - Move!
There is no "secret" to weight loss, you must burn off more calories than you take in to lose weight. Calories do count!
Try to avoid fad diets. Strive to improve your over all appearance. Do not focus on the numbers on the scale, focus on how you feel and how you look in your clothes!
Write it down! If you are trying to cut back, write down everything you ingest! Recent studies have shown that people who wrote down everything they put in their mouths managed to lose 7 pounds during the initial stages of weight management, with no other changes. This method reminds you of your goal and how much you have already eaten.
Drink lots of water! Yes, we know you've heard this before. Not only is water good for you, but the water will help you stay full as well as keep your hands and mouth occupied! Always have a glass or bottle of water in your hand. Build youself up...buy yourself a nice pitcher and fill it each morning, we at A Woman's Place just know that the nice presentation makes the water much easier to drink!
